01 / THE CONTEXT

Technology & trade-offs.

My engineering perspective: what each approach helps solve, and what needs care.
Responsive React: fix the behavior behind the layout
I start with the screen size and interaction that expose a problem, then separate layout rules from component behavior. Checking nearby widths helps reveal the underlying constraint.
The trade-off: A fix for one screenshot can fail at another width. The layout needs to respond to its content.
Tailwind or Material UI: match the styling approach to the job
Tailwind offers control through shared styling utilities. Material UI supplies ready-made component behavior. I choose the approach around the design freedom and interaction depth the interface needs.
The trade-off: These are example options. Existing conventions and the cost of customization matter as much as implementation speed.
