My engineering perspective: what each approach helps solve, and what needs care.
React: organize the interface around reusable behavior
I separate reusable controls from the screens that assemble them. This keeps a change to a shared control from turning into the same fix repeated across several pages.
The trade-off: Reuse earns its place when behavior is shared. Premature abstractions make simple screens harder to change.
Application state: choose the smallest useful structure
Zustand suits a small shared store; Redux makes complex state changes explicit through actions and reducers. The choice depends on how much state different screens must coordinate.
The trade-off: These are example options. I keep server data and temporary screen state distinct before introducing either store.
