01 / THE CONTEXT

The challenge.

The client requested a set of corrections to an existing mobile application.

02 / ENGAGEMENT FOCUS

Where the work focused.

The available description refers to a separate list of corrections. The Upwork record confirms the short contract period and client rating; the referenced list is not publicly available.

03 / THE ENGINEERING

Technology & trade-offs.

My engineering perspective: what each approach helps solve, and what needs care.

Focused fixes: keep the correction easy to verify

A short correction task benefits from a narrow reproduction case, a clear change, and a repeatable check. I keep the work connected to the behavior that needs repair.

The trade-off: Expanding a small fix into a broad rewrite increases the amount of behavior the team has to recheck.

Regression checks: include the adjacent interaction

I check what happens immediately before and after the changed behavior. This helps reveal whether the correction disrupted a neighboring part of the flow.

The trade-off: A single successful attempt is weak evidence for an intermittent failure. The reproduction conditions matter.
