01 / THE CONTEXT
The challenge.
A team working on a React application in an Nx workspace needed support with its automated tests.
02 / MY CONTRIBUTION
Testing across the application and its services
I improved the unit and integration tests and integrated emulators for the backend services into the test process. The client identified this as the specific contribution of the engagement.

My engineering perspective: what each approach helps solve, and what needs care.
Backend emulators: test the integration boundary
I brought backend-service emulators into the unit and integration test process. They make it possible to exercise service interactions in a controlled environment.
The trade-off: Emulators improve repeatability; checks against the deployed environment still matter because production behavior can differ.
Tests: make failures useful to the next engineer
I focus assertions on meaningful behavior and keep test data controlled. A failing test should help the team locate a regression and understand what changed.
The trade-off: Broad tests cover more interactions but take longer to diagnose. Focused checks help keep feedback actionable.
